Cash back at Rite Aid...
<!-- Begin check for Blog Icon --> <!-- End check for Blog Icon --> <!-- Begin check for Teaser Toggle --> <div class="field-item"><p>I was pleased to find an e-mail in my inbox this morning announcing the return of Rite Aid&#39;s Gift of Savings program. Basically, the chain rewards you with a gift check for your holiday spending. From Nov. 16 through Dec. 24, spend $25 to $50 and get $5 back. Spend $51 to $100 and get $10 back. Or, spend $101 or more and get $20 back. This is great because you can accumulate your savings over time, while still using coupons and participating in Rite Aid&#39;s normal rebate program. You will need to be a member of Rite Aid&#39;s Single Check Rebate program to participate. If you are unfamiliar, you can read my explanation of the program <a href="/taking_stock/coupons_101_rite_aid_rebates_explained" target="_blank">here</a>.</p></div> <div class="node-blog-teaser-footer"> <div class="node-blog-teaser-comments"><a href="http://projects.newsobserver.com/taking_stock/cash_back_at_rite_aid#comment"><img src="http://www.newsobserver.com/images/front_new/icon_discussion.gif" width="11" height="7" border="0" /> Comments (0)</a> <!-- If permissions, display edit link at end of teaser --> <!-- End edit link code --> </div> </div> <!-- End check for Teaser Toggle --> <!-- BEGIN AUDIO ATTACHMENT CODE -->

Unlike previous years, when Sam&#39;s would issue guest passes for non-members, this year, the prime hours of 5 to 10 a.m. are going to truly be reserved for members only. Sam&#39;s says this is a way to reward their members and give them first crack at the big Black Friday deals. If you need a little incentive to join, Sam&#39;s is offering a $10 gift card bonus for those who sign up for membership between now and Thanksgiving. You could use that card on Black Friday to maximize your savings, or you could save it for a later date.</p></div> <div class="node-blog-teaser-footer"> <div class="node-blog-teaser-comments"><a href="http://projects.newsobserver.com/taking_stock/sams_club_and_black_friday#comment"><img src="http://www.newsobserver.com/images/front_new/icon_discussion.gif" width="11" height="7" border="0" /> Comments (0)</a> <!-- If permissions, display edit link at end of teaser --> <!-- End edit link code --> </div> </div> <!-- End check for Teaser Toggle --> <!-- BEGIN AUDIO ATTACHMENT CODE -->

Among the new features this year: a comparison feature that searches all of the Web site&#39;s partner merchants for the best deals, the opportunity to register your e-mail address to get early alerts about good deals, a deal of the hour promotion and a new green product shopping category. You're on the clock...
<!-- Begin check for Blog Icon --> <!-- End check for Blog Icon --> <!-- Begin check for Teaser Toggle --> <div class="field-item"><p>To me, one of the best parts about shopping is having a chance to chat with the cashiers. Of course, part of that is because it&#39;s my job to know what&#39;s going on in stores, and employees are always the ones with the scoop. But part of it is also just because I like talking with people. At stores where I am a regular, I know many of the cashiers by name. </p><p>So I was surprised by <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122651745876821483.html?mod=dist_smartbrief" target="_blank">this Wall Street Journal story</a> about an efficiency program being implemented by midwestern grocery chain Meijer. The company is timing its cashiers, starting the clock when the customer&#39;s first item is scanned and stopping it when the receipt is printed. The faster you go, the more efficient you are deemed. I understand that companies need to look for efficiencies wherever they can nowadays, but I have to wonder if this will backfire. Who likes to feel rushed when they are giving a store some of their hard-earned money?</p></div> <div class="node-blog-teaser-footer"> <div class="node-blog-teaser-comments"><a href="http://projects.newsobserver.com/taking_stock/youre_on_the_clock#comment"><img src="http://www.newsobserver.com/images/front_new/icon_discussion.gif" width="11" height="7" border="0" /> Comments (6)</a> <!-- If permissions, display edit link at end of teaser --> <!-- End edit link code --> </div> </div> <!-- End check for Teaser Toggle --> <!-- BEGIN AUDIO ATTACHMENT CODE -->

Is Day Trading For A Living Your Cup Of Tea?
By LeeAnna -
If you like working with other people's money, then maybe day for a living is what you should be doing. This type of works daytime hours only, from the moment the stock market opens at 9am until it closes at 4pm in the afternoon, you can do a lot of in that amount of time. Or maybe you want to do day for livings with your own money, that way if you loose it, then you have no one to blame but yourself. However, it may be a good way to watch your money grow too. The following is the basic definition of what day is all about. Maybe it is your cup of tea, maybe not, only you can decide.

What is Day Trading?

Day for a living is when you take a position in the markets with a view of squaring that position before the end of that day. Day for a living mean a trader usually trades many times a day looking for fractions of a point to a few points per trade, however, by the end of the day he or she will close out all their positions. The goal of the day is to capitalize on price movement within one day. Unlike investors, the day trader will hold positions for only a few seconds or minutes, and never overnight.

What day really means.

The meaning of day is actually a misunderstood term. True day means not holding on to your stock positions beyond the current day, meaning your not suppose to hold on to your stock overnight. this way is really the safest way to do day trading, this way one is not exposed to the potential losses that can happen if the stock marked is closed due to news that can affect the prices of your stocks. There are many people out there today who are not very good “day traders,” they are actually more like con artists just out to take your money. Because of greed, they will hold your stock overnight, setting themselves up for the catastrophic elimination of their capital. In day currency, the term “day trading” changes slightly. Because currencies can be traded 24-hours a day, there

can't' really be any overnight trading. You can have open positions for longer than a day with active stop losses than can be activated at any time.

There are a few different types of day traders out there today, it can actually be subdivided into a number of styles.

Scalpers- This type of day involves the rapid and repeated buying and selling of a large amount of stocks within minutes or seconds. The goal here is to earn a small per share profit on each transaction while minimizing the risk.

Momentum Traders- This style of day involves identifying and stocks that are in a moving pattern during the day, in an attempt to buy such stocks at bottoms and sell at tops.

The advantages of day for a living is there are no overnight risks. Because positions are closed prior to the end of the day, news and events that affect the next day's opening prices do not affect your client's portfolio. Day for a living has a greater leverage on your client's capital because of the low margin requirements as their trades are closed in the same market day. This increased leverage can increase your client's profits if used wisely.
